Away from School news, but still on a running theme, best of luck to all runners from the Ballintotis Fit4Life Club and to all other locals who are running this Sunday's Ballycotton 10 Mile Road Race. As in recent years there is a huge gathering from the Ballintotis area taking part and whilst the majority of these will wear the Ballintotis blue singlet, there are some from the locality who will be running in the colours of Midleton A.C, Youghal A.C and East Cork A.C. A trip to watch the race is certainly on the agenda for many locals also with the half way mark at Ballymaloe a very popular viewing spoilt each year.
Remember after Ballycotton all the focus will switch to our own 4 Mile Race in Ballintotis. On line entries open on Tuesday morning March 14th on the newly revamped www.ballintotis.com.
A number of meetings have already taken place and at present the committee are seeking either financial donations or sponsored prizes to assist the cause and offset costs. Please call 086-8778182.
Incidentally the chip timing company "myrunresults" who will be providing the timing and results service in Ballycotton will also be making a return visit to Ballintotis this year. Check all the results on their web site immediately after Sunday's race.
Yoga Event In Community Centre
Another big day of Yoga is planned for Ballintotis Community Centre on this Saturday. Mary Kelly's classes have proved hugely popular mid week and a now a full day's programme has been organised for Saturday.
It's great to see a renewed surge of interest in Community Games in Ballintotis, reflected in an attendance of excess of 30 at last week's table tennis sessions in the Community Centre. Well done to the committee on their great work.
