Public Information Meeting At Community Centre ON FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 22ND
Would You Like To Become Involved In New Activities in Ballintotis This Coming Autumn Season?
It's time to get the ball rolling with some more new activities in Ballintotis Community Centre and we are hosting an Information Meeting at 7.30pm on Friday September 22nd to help to get a few new ventures off the ground. Already there are a number of weekly activities taking place in the Community Centre and some of these may be to your liking. Indeed all of these groups will be on hand for a brief word to inform the attendance about what they do. There is the Sewing Group, Yoga, Fit4Life, Taekwondo and The Tuesday Club and all would welcome new members. But there is also room for so much more and here is where YOU come in. By attending this Information Meeting having your say, the groundwork will be done to getting things started.
At the recent Community Council sub committee meeting, ideas such Indoor Bowls, a local Walking group, Arts & Crafts etc were amongst the options aired, whilst getting the Handball Club and Youth Club back up and running again were seen as other main objectives.
We also have a wealth of talented singers, musicians and even actors in the locality - so why not get the show on the road with a Ballintotis Music and Drama Group?. The Community Centre is the ideal base and by forming a new group in September - surely a Christmas production would be a realistic target.
How about the Ballintotis Flower and Garden Club? - Again we have many people in the area with a great interest in gardening. Monthly meetings and guest demonstrations at the Community Centre along with trips to various gardens are within the bounds of reality.
So let's make it an Autumn and Winter to remember in Ballintotis - please show your support for these initiatives by the Community Council by attending on Friday September 22nd at 7.30pm. Light refreshments will also be served. Any queries re above events please call John on 086-8778182.
Ballintotis Area Community Council are also organising an end of Summer Clean Up on tonight Wednesday 13th September. Please assemble at the Church Car Park at 7pm. Many hands make light work, so lets all do our part to keep our area in good shape during the months ahead.
After the Summer break the Ballintotis Tuesday Club is scheduled to recommence at the Community Centre from 2.30pm to 4.30pm next week on Tuesday 19th September .
Congratulations to all the members of the Ballintotis Fit4Life who took part in the recent Dingle Marathon and Half Marathon. Our local club had a massive representation and despite the bad weather all had a great day and some fantastic times were recorded. Last Saturday night was time to let the hair down as members and friends enjoyed a great night at the club's annual BBQ at Castlemartyr Resort.
